FAQs
At what stage during my project does engineering begin?
Engineering design work typically begins when preliminary architectural design plans are complete. These plans are used as the basis for design of the structural elements of the project.
We believe that design works best when professionals collaborate across disciplines. We are happy to work with your architectural team at the outset of the project as well. We enjoy participating in design strategy discussions to come up with solutions that meet the project design intent with an eye toward cost savings.
Does Sveiven Engineering offer architectural design services?
Yes, Sveiven Engineering can provide architectural design services for some projects. However, our team is highly specialized in engineering, and so our primary focus and expertise is in that realm. If you have a larger scale, design intensive project, we recommend working with an architect or architectural design professional first.
Once we sign the proposal, how long does it take to complete the engineering?
This varies depending on project size and scope. We are happy to provide estimates for turnaround time on a project-by-project basis.
I don’t want to pull permits for my project. Can you help me?
No. Sveiven Engineering is licensed under the great state of California and is therefore required to comply with all engineering code rules. We will not be able to work on projects that will not be properly permitted.
What is your specialty?
We have a wide range of design experience. We typically focus on high end custom residences, ADUs, multi-family residential, residential remodels/additions, light industrial, and smaller scale commercial projects. We are happy to discuss your specific project needs, to see if we would be a good addition to your design team.
